The Anderson family is really enjoying a quiet summer, NOT! For some unknown reason mommy decided to have all of the surgeries in one week. Not my very brightest moment, but it will be good when it is all over.
June 2 - Brittany had to have a tooth exposed to bring it down. To do this they had to expose the tooth. Normally this procedure is easy and fairly painless. The tooth is usually close to the roof of the mouth, but true to the Anderson way, Brittany's was nearer to her nose and in the front. It was extremely intense! The shots were uncomfortable, but I have never seen anything so disgusting in my life! To spare everyone the details, it required a chisel, lots of blood and some stitches. Poor kid! Hopefully it works!! She now has a chain attached to the tooth and her braces bringing it down. It will take several weeks, but hopefully will work soon.
June 3 - Ashleigh had to have her wisdom teeth removed. She was really worried that she would say something stupid. She didn't, but it was another weird, intense procedure. All four of her teeth were impacted under the bone and one had a cyst. It was painful, but didn't go quite like she wanted. She expected to bounce right back with no pain. Not quite! She has slept all day. She refuses to take the pain pills, so there is some discomfort, but she would rather have some discomfort than the nausea. Hopefully tomorrow she feels a little better.
Needless to say between the tonsillectomy last week and the two procedures this week, we have had an extremely busy first week of the summer. I am hoping that by Monday we can start to have a schedule and some fun to our summer. I just hope we are through with the medical for the summer. Wow!
